The Rev. Dr. Issac Whittmon, The Founding Pastor of the Greater Metropolitan Church of Christ.  Pastor Issac Whittmon Founded the Greater Metropolitan Church of Christ in the year of 1966. He has been pastoring for the over thirty seven years. And has been in the Ministry for over 40 years, His dedication to his church and  the Lord is a strength that we all benefit from.  Pastor Whittmon is a member of the Board of Director of The Gospel Music Workshop of America, Inc. founded by the Late Rev. James L. Cleveland. He is Vice Chairmen for the Men's Department of the GMWA (Men of Promise). He is also Co-Chair of the Chicago Gospel Museum. Pastor Whittmon is a noted Artist, Songwriter, Composer, Musician and Master Choir Director. Pastor Whittmon has received numerous awards and a Honorary Doctoriane. He was also Founder & Executive Director of the Soft Sheen Gospel Choir. He is The National President of the United Evangelistical Churches of Christ Inc, founded by the late Bishop James L. Anderson. In the year of 1977 Pastor Whittmon along with the Greater Metropolitan Church of Christ Choir received a grammy nomination for album entitled "The Lord Is My Light" recorded with the King of Gospel Rev. James Cleveland. He as worked with such greats as, Rev. James Cleveland, Albertina Walker, Jessy Dixon, Shirley Caeser , Dorothy Norwood, Rev. Clay Evans & The AARC Mass Choir just to name a few.
